I love to travel but Colorado will always be home.

My Photo Journeys

Argentina

In September of 2018 I flew to Ushuaia, Argentina to visit my friend Juliana. The flight took me from Denver to Panama City then Ushuaia via Buenos Aries. Somewhere along the way all my checked bags when missing including all my winter clothes and my ski gear. That wasn’t all the misfortune either, Juliana injured her legs and couldn’t ski for the time of my stay. But that gave us the opportunity to explore much more the the area then we probably otherwise would have. Including several days at Parque Nacional de Terra Del Fuego, where I managed to take my camera despite the rainy cold weather.

Wyoming

Probably the two most important trips of my photography journey thus far in my life have been to Grand Teton National Park. First in August of 2017 for the Eclipse and then September of 2019 for a Summit Workshop. For the Eclipse I went on a long backpacking trip up Avalanche Canyon and down through Cascade Canyon to the North side of Jenny Lake. My intent was to capture the Eclipse with the Tetons in the Foreground. It didn’t quite work out that way but I learned a lot on that trip. The next time was a bit more of a deliberate education, but it proved to be a pivotal point in my journey to improve my craft.

Israel

This was my first photo trip to Israel in May of 2017. Up until that point photography had been my creative outlet do largely to lack of space making painting difficult. This trip to Israel changed that the photograph featured here more than anything. Since that time I have been focusing myself toward improving my skills and learning as much as I can. To me photography is a unique art in the sense that you are only able to work with what you have. Its very improvisational in a way, yet at the same time requires focus, patience and planing. The interest I had kindling before this trip ignited over the two weeks I spent abroad with my camera the first time.
